ABOVE THE RIM YOUTH BASKETBALL FORMAT
AGE GROUPS
Both fall and winter seasons will be for grades Kindergarten through high school.
Age groups for both seasons are: Kindergarten; 1st & 2nd grade; 3rd & 4th grade; 5th & 6th grade; 7th & 8th grade; high school. Only the Kindergarten group is co-ed. there must be enough players to form at least 4 teams in any age group.
FORMAT
Kindergarten through 4th grade play 5-on-5 on the short courts.
5th grade through high school play 3-on-3 on the short courts in a fast-break format.
FEES
The fees for each season are $65 per player (through 4th grade); from 5th grade through high school, the fees are $70. there is a family maximum for all children playing from a single family for one season of $140. Some scholarship assistance is available for those families with tight finances; please contact Tim Pressler for information about this.
There is a discount for players registering for both season; that fee is $110.
SCHEDULE
The fall season practices begin the week of September 27th. Practices are on either Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday. the registration form allows a player to identify if they have a conflict with another activity on one of those days, so they can be placed on a team that practices another day.
All games are played on Saturdays. Fall games begin October 9th and the lst game is November 13th. Awards Day is November 20th.
Winter practices begin the week of January 3rd.
Winter games begin January 15th and continue through March 5th. Awards Day is March 12th.
DEADLINES
The fall registration deadline is August 27th.
The winter registration deadline is November 29th.
REGISTRATION FOR THE FALL AND WINTER BEGINS JULY 1, 2010
There is a $10 late fee for all registrations received after deadline.
