Above The Rim is an instructional program where players are taught age-appropriate skills of basketball, learn character traits by weekly pre-game devotionals and are encouraged to have fun.

Format

Players are assigned to teams in their age group. The age groups have changed; they are: Kindergarten & 1st grade (co-ed), 2nd & 3rd grade; 4th & 5th grade; 6th-8th grade; and boys’ high school. These are a new structure from the past. Depending on how these groupings work in the fall, the winter will likely follow the same structure.

Equipment

Each player should wear comfortable indoor sports shoes and shorts. Jerseys and t-shirts will be provided by the league.

Schedule

Practices are scheduled by the coaches for either Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday and are once a week. They will remain the same day each week during the season. Games are played on Saturdays.

Dates

The fall season practices will start the week of September 26, 2011. Games start October 8 and continue for 6 weeks, ending November 12. Awards will be November 19.
The winter season practices start the week of Jan 9, 2012. Games start Jan 21, 2011 and end Mar 10, 2012.

Fees

A child’s registration is not complete until the fees are paid. Fees are $70 for each child K-5th grade. Fees for 6th grade – high school are $75. Fees for cheerleading are $85/child. Families will pay for the first 2 children; any children beyond that are at no additional charge. The fee for a child playing both fall and winter seasons is $125 for K-5th; $135 for 6th-HS. Partial scholarship help is available if finances are tight; please contact Tim Pressler to complete a request form and discuss the need.
