JUST FOR KICKS

SOCCER
	The Just For Kicks Summer Soccer Program is for children kindergarten through 4th grade. It is intended to be a developmental program to help prepare players with a basic knowledge of soccer skills and how the game is played.

FORMAT
	There will be a circuit of drills and skill challenges, coupled with scrimmages to round out the players. Scrimmages use a 5-on-5 format with no goalkeepers and no off-sides. The emphasis is on ball control, teamwork and understanding of a short passing game. Character trait development through a short devotional is part of the circuit. Our goals are for the players to have fun, build character and enjoy the game of soccer.

COMMITMENT
	Players will have one session a week, on Monday evenings. Each session will last one and a half hours. Each station on the circuit will be approximately 15 minutes, with two of those stations being scrimmages against other groups.

AGE GROUPS
	All age groups will take place on Mondays. Players will be sorted into age groups of: Kindergarten, 1st & 2nd grade, 3rd & 4th grade. All levels are co-ed. Players will only scrimmage against others in their same age group. CHILDREN SHOULD REGISTER IN THE GRADE LEVEL THEY WILL BE ATTNDING IN THE FALL.

EQUIPMENT
	T-shirts, equipment needed for drills and soccer balls will be provided. Players are responsible for the following: -their own shoes (we recommend cleats) and soccer socks, -shin guards (MANDATORY - for safety) -bringing a water bottle each week for themselves. -players can bring their own soccer ball; however balls will be provided for drills and games.

FEES
	The cost of the program is $40 per player.

RULES
	Rules have been modified to provide an environment where scoring is easier and success is achievable for all players.

	There are no offside calls.
	Teams are co-ed.
	On goal kicks, the opposing team has to stand beyond the mid-field stripe
	There are no goal keepers.
	Shin guards are MANDATORY for all players

GAME SCHEDULE
	The program lasts 8 weeks, with sessions on Monday evenings, starting June 22 - August 10, 2009.

	The cost is $40 per player. Each child will receive a shirt and award.
