SON CITY SICKNESS/ILLNESS POLICY

The following policy is designed for the health and safety of each child in our church school departments. Although we realize as parents we cannot always know when our children are becoming ill or contagious, we ask that you follow these guidelines to hopefully keep the spread of contagious illnesses/diseases to a minimum.
If your child is exhibiting any of the following symptoms, please do not bring him/her into his/her class:
  • Fever greater than 100º
  • Runny nose
  • Cough
  • Questionable rash
  • Diarrhea
  • Lethargy (marked decrease of normal activity)
  • Chicken Pox
  • Conjunctivitis (Pink Eye)
  • Impetigo

If your child is being treated with antibiotics, he/she should be on the drug for at least 24 hours before going into his/her classroom. Likewise, a child should be “fever free” for 24 hours before entering their class.

If your child has a continually clear-runny nose or rash due to non-contagious allergies or symptoms that hang on long after the child is no longer contagious, please let us know by tagging the child with a green smiley face tag.

If a child is brought to their class and exhibits any of the aforementioned symptoms, you will be asked not to place the child in their class unless an explanation is given.
